1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Mathodical at mathodical.fun (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service (“Terms”). If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors and registered users.

2. Description of Service

Mathodical is a free daily mathematical crossword puzzle game. A new puzzle is published every day. Registered users can track their solve streaks, success rates, and best times. The Service is provided free of charge and is subject to change or discontinuation at any time without notice.

3. User Accounts

You may play as a guest without creating an account. To access streak tracking and statistics, you must register with a valid email address or via Google OAuth. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You must provide accurate information when registering. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts at our discretion.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to: (a) use the Service for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to reverse-engineer, copy, reproduce, or redistribute the puzzle generation algorithm, source code, or any part of the Service; (c) use automated scripts, bots, or other tools to solve puzzles or scrape data; (d) impersonate any person or entity; or (e) attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure.

5. Intellectual Property

The Service and all its contents, including but not limited to the name “Mathodical”, the logo, the puzzle generation algorithm, the game mechanic, the user interface design, and all written content, are the exclusive intellectual property of Sagar Punjabi and are protected under applicable copyright and intellectual property laws of India and international conventions. No part of the Service may be reproduced, distributed, modified, or used to create derivative works without prior written permission from the owner.

6. User-Submitted Data

By using the Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and process data you submit (such as puzzle answers and timing data) solely for the purpose of providing the Service, including calculating statistics and streaks. We do not sell or share this data with third parties for commercial purposes.

7. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses. We make no guarantees about the accuracy, reliability, or availability of the Service.

8. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Sagar Punjabi shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability to you for any claim arising out of these Terms shall not exceed the amount you paid to access the Service (which, as the Service is free, is nil).

9. Third-Party Services

The Service relies on third-party providers including Supabase (authentication and database), Vercel (hosting), PostHog (analytics), and Google (OAuth sign-in). Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the practices of any third-party service providers.

We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Changes will be posted on this page with a revised “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms.
